What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vocal Music Teacher position at Modern Motion Dance School?
The Music Teachers work closely with our students to deliver high quality experiences that boost confidence and nurture creativity. Qualifications
The candidate must:
- have at least five combined years of professional or college level performance experience related to what you will teach
- one or more instruments in bands, orchestras or other ensembles
- singing in choirs, singing solo or as part of musical groups
- dress appropriately for lessons and studio activities
- possess a minimum of 2 years music teaching experience, a degree in music/music education, college credits in music, and/or extensive training in music
- be able to read music, understand music theory and teach using proper terminology
- able to teach to beginner through advanced musicians or vocalists of varying ages and skill levels
- be able to demonstrate skills and provide feedback to assist students in developing good habits and proper technique
- For instrumental music - ability to teach multiple instruments preferred but not required
Essential Duties
- Implement curriculum or lesson plans as provided by the studio
- Teach level appropriate music to students
- Select and rehearse piece of music for the student to perform
- Record voiceover or video instructional aids for students
- Attend staff meetings, events and performances
- Responsible for the safety of the school assets (human, financial, and physical) and students entrusted in your care (watching who is picking up children, ensuring children don't leave without an adult or go into parking lot alone)
- Daily use of database system for student attendance
- Light cleaning of studio room, reporting areas in need of repair or replacement
- Report all incidents, accidents, and concerns arising from any and all school functions, classes, or performances to the Executive Director.
