E-Commerce Merchant, Sales & Marketing Assistant

Location: Passaic, New Jersey

Job Type: Full-time or part-time, depending on experience


We operate a growing, multi-brand art and custom framing business serving retail customers, interior designers, frame shops, hospitality companies, healthcare organizations, retailers, and other commercial buyers.


This position combines:

  • E-commerce merchandising
  • Product and catalog management
  • Sales support
  • Customer and account outreach
  • Wholesale business development
  • Data and spreadsheet management
  • Operational coordination

You will be involved in how products are created, presented, marketed, sold, and communicated to customers.

You will work closely with company leadership, the production team, marketing partners, customers, interior designers, frame shops, and wholesale accounts.

The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between spreadsheets, websites, email outreach, customer follow-up, product launches, sales projects, and the production floor.

E-Commerce Merchandising and Product Management
  • Create, update, organize, and publish products across Shopify, company websites, marketplaces, and other sales channels.
  • Turn new product ideas into complete, customer-ready product listings.
  • Manage product titles, descriptions, images, pricing, SKUs, sizes, attributes, variants, frame options, finishes, glass types, and shipping information.
  • Maintain accurate size matrices, frame selections, moulding options, matting options, and product configurations.
  • Build and update collections, categories, landing pages, product groupings, filters, badges, and promotional sections.
  • Help launch new frame lines, art collections, canvas products, jersey products, shadowboxes, seasonal collections, and specialty framing products.
  • Identify missing images, incorrect titles, pricing problems, duplicate products, broken links, and inconsistent product information.
  • Ensure that products are presented consistently across all sales channels.
  • Improve product organization so customers can find and understand products more easily.
  • Assist with product feeds and marketplace listings for platforms such as Amazon, Walmart, Wayfair, Etsy, Target Plus, Google Merchant Center, and other channels.
Liebermans Wholesale and Trade Support
  • Support the growth of Liebermans.net and its wholesale art and framing programs.
  • Help identify and contact potential customers, including:
  • Interior designers
  • Picture frame shops
  • Art consultants
  • Furniture stores
  • Gift shops
  • Hospitality companies
  • Hotels and restaurants
  • Healthcare facilities
  • Senior living communities
  • Corporate offices
  • Retailers and e-commerce sellers
  • Assist with email, phone, LinkedIn, and direct outreach campaigns.
  • Follow up with former Liebermans customers and inactive accounts.
  • Help new customers create accounts, understand available products, request pricing, and place orders.
  • Prepare product recommendations, art selections, curated collections, pricing sheets, product links, and presentation materials for trade customers.
  • Assist interior designers and commercial clients with art sourcing, sizing, framing, customization, and project requirements.
  • Maintain organized prospect lists, outreach records, account notes, and follow-up schedules.
  • Help prepare for trade shows, designer events, frame-industry events, and wholesale promotions.
  • Assist with sample requests, account applications, product questions, and customer follow-up.
  • Support programs designed to reactivate past customers and increase repeat purchases.
Sales Support and Business Development
  • Respond to sales inquiries and help guide customers toward appropriate products and services.
  • Prepare quotes, product lists, proposals, pricing information, and follow-up communications.
  • Assist with larger residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, and design projects.
  • Follow up on open quotes, sample requests, abandoned projects, and inactive accounts.
  • Help organize leads by opportunity, customer type, project size, and next action.
  • Work with leadership to identify products, collections, and customer segments with the strongest sales potential.
  • Track sales opportunities and help move them from initial inquiry to completed order.
  • Look for cross-selling and upselling opportunities, including framing, canvas, larger sizes, upgraded materials, and related artwork.
  • Help develop repeat-order programs for designers, retailers, frame shops, and commercial clients.
  • Support outreach to current customers regarding new products, collections, services, and special promotions.
Marketing and Content Support
  • Assist with email marketing campaigns for Liebermans and the company’s retail brands.
  • Help prepare newsletters, promotional emails, product announcements, customer reactivation campaigns, and seasonal offers.
  • Create and organize product lists, images, links, and campaign information for marketing use.
  • Support social media, blog, collection-page, and website content projects.
  • Assist with basic search engine optimization, including:
  • Product titles
  • Meta titles
  • Meta descriptions
  • Image alt text
  • Collection descriptions
  • Internal linking
  • Keyword organization
  • On-site search terms
  • Help identify products and art collections that should receive additional promotion.
  • Coordinate promotions across websites, email campaigns, sales outreach, and social media.
  • Monitor competing art, framing, and wholesale websites for product, pricing, merchandising, and marketing ideas.
  • Assist with creating marketing calendars for holidays, graduation, senior night, trade events, designer campaigns, and seasonal decorating periods.
Catalog, Data and Spreadsheet Management

This role requires strong Excel and Google Sheets skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining master SKU lists and product databases.
  • Organizing large volumes of product and artwork information.
  • Managing sizes, prices, margins, suppliers, product attributes, and shipping tiers.
  • Using formulas such as VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, CONCAT, IF statements, filters, sorting, and basic data validation.
  • Comparing product data across multiple systems and identifying inconsistencies.
  • Preparing product-upload spreadsheets and bulk-edit files.
  • Organizing supplier catalogs, moulding lines, art catalogs, frame options, and pricing data.
  • Assisting with price checks, cost updates, margin reviews, and competitive pricing research.
  • Identifying missing, duplicated, incomplete, or incorrect data.
  • Turning unstructured information into clean and usable spreadsheets.
  • Maintaining sales outreach lists, customer records, campaign lists, and project trackers.

Candidates must have practical Excel or Google Sheets experience. Please do not apply without solid spreadsheet skills.

Production and Order Accuracy
  • Ensure that online product configurations match what the frame shop and print department can produce.
  • Translate product listings into clear, production-ready specifications.
  • Verify that sizes, frame styles, materials, hardware, images, and customer options are accurate.


Project and Administrative Support
  • Take ownership of follow-up work that keeps projects moving.
  • Complete assignments such as:
  • Add new sizes to a collection.
  • Update product prices.
  • Fix incorrect product titles.
  • Identify products missing images.
  • Prepare a customer outreach list.
  • Upload a new art collection.
  • Build a list of frame shops or interior designers.
  • Organize products for an email campaign.
  • Review a marketplace feed for errors.
  • Help turn recurring work into straightforward standard operating procedures and checklists.
  • Maintain project trackers and communicate progress, problems, and next steps.
  • Support special projects across company brands, including catalog cleanups, website improvements, new sales channels, product launches, and customer outreach initiatives.
  • Be willing to assist with other business priorities in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Shopify.
  • Experience with one or more online marketplaces, including Amazon, Walmart, Wayfair, Etsy, Target Plus, or eBay.
  • Experience with Google Merchant Center or product feeds.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, email marketing platforms, or sales tracking tools.
  • Experience supporting wholesale, trade, B2B, interior design, hospitality, retail, or commercial customers.
  • Knowledge of basic SEO, product merchandising, email marketing, and customer outreach.
  • Experience working with large product catalogs or high-SKU e-commerce businesses.
  • Interest in art, interior design, wall décor, custom framing, photography, or home furnishings.
  • Experience preparing quotes, proposals, customer presentations, or curated product selections.

  • Product information is more consistent across websites and marketplaces.
  • Customer inquiries, quotes, and sales opportunities receive timely follow-up.
  • Marketing campaigns have better product information, images, links, and targeting.
  • Production receives clearer and more accurate order specifications.
  • Catalog-related mistakes, remakes, and rework are reduced.
  • Leadership spends less time correcting routine catalog and follow-up issues.
  • The business is better prepared for seasonal sales periods, trade events, and large commercial opportunities.

This is a hands-on position in an entrepreneurial business. Priorities may change as new products, customer opportunities, marketplaces, and projects develop.
