Caregiver Resource Center Coordinator (CRC)
The Modern Maturity Center-Dover, DE
(12 hours per week)
SUMMARY
Directs the operation of the caregiver resource center, providing relevant, helpful, and supportive information and referrals to those providing care for the elderly in the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains collections of slides, videotapes, programmed texts, and other educational materials related to caregiver issues.
- Issues loan materials to caregivers.
- Maintains records of loans and prepares circulation reports for review by administrative personnel.
- Makes referrals to appropriate agencies/organizations supporting caregivers.
- Research without bias or prejudice on specific topics/concerns facing caregivers.
- Remain informed on current topics/concerns facing caregivers.
- Promote intervention activities, such as supporting the development and education of new and existing support groups that focus on reducing the risk of caregiver burnout.
- Serve as a liaison between the Caregiver Resource Center and the Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities.
- Attend periodic meetings on current caregiving program updates related to the Caregiver Resource Center.
- Be available at the Caregiver Resource Center during designated staffing hours.
- Must be available and lead evening support groups (2 per month).
- Offer direct contact, answer/return phone calls, make follow-up calls, and research specific concerns for caregivers contacting the Caregiver Resource Center.
- Conduct public outreach to the broader community about the Caregiver Resource Center.
- Prepare quarterly reports as needed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Social Services, Gerontology, Counseling, or related field; background or experience in Gerontological services; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
WORK SCHEDULE
- 12 hours per week
- MANDATORY: Must be available/flexible a few evenings during the week to facilitate (2) support group meetings.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
