Position Summary
This is a full-time hybrid role with flexibility for remote work when not in the field. The CAT III Analyst will serve as the lead technical resource for assigned customer facilities, performing advanced vibration diagnostics, reliability assessments, and condition monitoring services.
This role requires the ability to work independently, build trusted customer relationships, mentor junior analysts, and provide high-level recommendations that improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage a portfolio of industrial customer sites within the assigned territory
- Perform advanced vibration data collection, analysis, and fault diagnosis on rotating equipment
- Diagnose bearing defects, imbalance, misalignment, looseness, resonance, gearbox faults, electrical issues, cavitation, and process-related failures
- Analyze pumps, motors, fans, blowers, compressors, gearboxes, conveyors, and other critical assets
- Utilize route-based and wireless remote monitoring technologies
- Produce professional reports with clear findings, severity rankings, and corrective recommendations
- Conduct machinery walkdowns, criticality reviews, and asset health assessments
- Support precision maintenance initiatives including alignment, balancing, and root cause efforts
- Serve as lead customer contact for technical findings and service planning
- Mentor and assist developing analysts in field techniques and diagnostics
- Support one-off field services, emergency troubleshooting, and startup reliability work as needed
Required Qualifications
- ISO Category III Vibration Certification (required)
- 5 years of hands-on vibration analysis experience in industrial environments
- Strong expertise in predictive maintenance and rotating equipment reliability
- Demonstrated ability to interpret spectra, waveforms, phase, and time signal data
- Experience with motors, pumps, fans, gearboxes, compressors, and process equipment
- Strong knowledge of machinery failure modes and maintenance best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-directed, organized, and comfortable working remotely
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certifications in Infrared Thermography, Ultrasound, Oil Analysis, or Reliability
- Experience with wireless condition monitoring systems
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Experience mentoring junior analysts or leading customer programs
