Step onto the floor and start your day by reviewing customer drawings and specifications. You translate weld symbols at a glance, determine joint prep, select the right filler for steel, aluminum, or exotic alloys, and dial in amps and volts. With fixturing set, you execute clean GTAW passes, then finish to spec. You verify quality through in‑process inspections, complete certifications and documentation, and keep your station and equipment in peak condition. As production needs shift, you take on other tasks assigned by the area supervisor—staying flexible, precise, and safety‑minded throughout.

What you’ll do

• Prepare joints, perform TIG (GTAW) welding, and finish welds to meet customer drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Interpret mechanical drawings and weld requirement symbology.
• Conduct process inspections and complete required certifications and documentation.
• Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment.
• Support additional duties as assigned by the area supervisor.

What you’ll bring

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and instructions.
• Basic computer skills and strong proficiency in welding techniques.
• Knowledge of wire and filler applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and select exotic materials.
• Working knowledge of fixturing and weld setup parameters (amps, volts, etc.); able to read wiring schematics.

Background

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of an internal welding test.
• Minimum 3 years of experience across various welding processes.
