What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Mill Machinist - 2nd Shift position at Modern Industries, Inc.?
***This is a 2nd shift position, Monday-Thursday, four 10-hour shifts. Pays 8% differential. Sign on bonus $3000. ***
Duties/Responsibilities of CNC Mill Machinist:
- Loads, Unloads, Starts, and Stops Machines.
- Sets the feeds and speeds of machines during the machining process.
- Watches gauges, dials, and other key indicators to make sure machines are working
- properly and workpieces meet quality standards.
- Monitors machines during operation in order to detect dull cutting tools and excessive
- Measures dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications,
- using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
- Calculates and sets machine movements according to drawing specs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities of CNC Mill Machinist:
- Knowledge of basic hand tools, including their uses and maintenance.
- Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions.
- Ability to control the operations of machining equipment and systems.
- Basic mathematics knowledge, particularly Trigonometry.
Education and Experience of CNC Mill Machinist:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. 0-3 years of experience in relevant field preferred.
- 5S and Lean Manufacturing training.
- Basic Blueprint Reading.
- Documentation and Modern’s Production System.
- Inspection Techniques for Machinists. SPC Charts and Tools. Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Adjusting Boring heads.
