Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, manage appointment scheduling, and coordinate patient flow using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems Wellsky .
- Verify patient insurance coverage, process medical billing and collections, and handle health insurance inquiries with professionalism and accuracy.
- Review and update medical records, ensuring all documentation aligns with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Support front desk operations including multi-line phone system management, patient intake procedures, and maintaining a clean, organized office environment.
- Manage physician orders including faxing, dropping and picking orders up.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), appointment reminders, and managing medical records efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain knowledge of health information management practices related to medical coding, billing procedures, and insurance claims processing.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Office Assistant or in a similar medical administrative support role within a clinic setting.
- Strong knowledge of Well sky EMR and forcura fax systems.
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to handle multi-line phone systems and perform 10 key typing efficiently.
- Comprehensive understanding of HIPAA regulations, clinical confidentiality policies, and health insurance procedures.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly via phone etiquette and professional demeanor.
- Clinic experience or dental clinic experience is preferred; familiarity with health information management practices is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management.
