Job Opportunity
Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Shift Details
Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday with alternating start times of 0700 or 1900 depending on staffing needs and patient census. The position offers 36 hours per week and includes participation in a holiday rotation as scheduled. There is no on-call requirement.
Weekend Requirements
Must be available as scheduled.
Holiday Expectations
Contractors are required to work 1-2 of the following upcoming Summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day unless the unit is closed.
Unit Information
- Equipment: Drager, Jet, Oscillator
- Patient Types: Patients of all ages, with a primary focus on adults and the NICU
- Scrubs: Any color tops and bottoms, solids preferred
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 24 months of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting.
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records is required.
- All certifications must be active.
- Previous travel assignments must have been completed within the last 15 months.
- Iowa Respiratory License is highly preferred (licensing candidates accepted with a 1-3 week turnaround).
- Experience with Jet, Drager, and Oscillator ventilators is required.
- Candidates must be willing and able to float across different units within the hospital.
- NICU experience within the last 18 months is required, with Level III or Level IV NICU experience preferred.
Profile Requirements
- A minimum of 36 months of current experience in Respiratory Therapy is required.
- A skills checklist must be specific to Respiratory Therapy.
- Professional references should include a charge nurse, supervisor, or director from the last 24 months.
- A valid Driver's License is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC is required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from AHA or ARC is required.
- National Board for Respiratory Care certification is required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is required.
