Job Opportunity

Position: Registered Nurse - PACU

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. This is a day shift position with rotating hours.

• Type: 5x8 Hour shifts


• Hours: 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM (Some shifts may vary between 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM or 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM)


• No weekends, holidays, or call required

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a PACU setting.


• Must possess Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.


• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.


• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition/management is preferred.


• Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

• Patient Age Groups: Adolescents and Adults


• Daily Census: Approximately 40 patients


• Average Number of Visits Per Day: 50


• Unit Capacity: 28 beds

This PACU primarily cares for oncology patients, with acuity levels ranging from outpatient to ICU level care. Specialty surgeries include flap reconstruction (ENT, breast, and other), thoracic procedures, and neurosurgery.

The PACU team collaborates closely with various services, including:

• Physical Therapy


• Respiratory Services


• Interpretation Services


• Radiology


• Social Services


• Rapid Response Teams


• Pharmacy


• Transportation

• Orientation Hours: 40 hours


• Pre-Approved Time Off: 1 request
