Position: Operating Room Registered Nurse
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team in Anchorage, AK. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a Magnet-designated facility recognized as one of the best hospitals in Alaska. The role involves providing high-quality patient care during surgical procedures in a Level II Trauma environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-operative assessments and prepare patients for surgery.
- Assist in the setup and organization of the operating room, ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are available.
- Provide direct patient care during surgical procedures, monitoring vital signs and maintaining patient safety.
- Collaborate effectively with surgical teams, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients and provide post-operative care.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment.
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Operating Room setting.
- Experience in a Trauma Level II facility is required; Trauma Level I experience is preferred.
- Certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support) are required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) are preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in surgical procedures, including but not limited to vascular, gynecological, orthopedic, neurological, and general surgery.
Shift Details:
- Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts (06:45 - 19:15)
- Weekend coverage is required, every third weekend.
- Must be available to float to like units as needed.
