What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3rd Shift Maintenance Electrician position at Modern Forge Tennessee LLC?
Modern Forge, Piney Flats, TN, is accepting applications for a Maintenance Electrician. You will be responsible for the installation, service and repair of electrical equipment and instrumentation. After 30 days of service, you become eligible for company paid holidays. After 3 months of service, you become eligible for participation in our medical, dental, vision, and 401K coverage. After 6 months of service, you are eligible for vacation pay.
Summary
As a Maintenance Electrician, you will be performing a variety of functions within the plant including electrical and mechanical repairs, inspections, troubleshooting, and wiring all electrical apparatus, devices, and circuits in the plant. Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, your core skills and electrical experience will enable you to work effectively while performing maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Receives instructions, assignments, wiring diagrams, and blueprints on work to be done from Maintenance Foreman.
- Analyzes the drawings and wiring diagrams to plan logical approach to job and determine material and replacement needs
- Locate sources of trouble of electrical equipment by tracing and testing circuits and inspecting for improper operations.
- Dismantles, inspects, repairs, adjusts, or replaces faulty parts and wiring on motors, starters, control panels, circuit breakers, electronic devices, etc.
- Tests and adjusts equipment for proper and safe operating conditions.
- Installs conduit fittings, switches, controls, fixtures, and wires and connects all types of electrical equipment as required for new installations, replacements or repairs
- Assists Mechanics/Electronic Technicians to install and repair hammers, presses, mills, lathes, maintenance equipment and plant lighting
- Provide accurate accounting of labor and parts used via IMaint work order system
- Keep work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner at all times
- Follow all safety procedures and precautionsTg hammers, presses, mills, lathes, production and maintenance equipment, etc.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required; vocational training or an Associate Degree in Electrical Technology is highly preferred.
- 5 years proven work experience as a maintenance electrician in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA safety regulations.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
