Essential Responsibilities
- Lead facilities staff, which includes management of daily activities and work prioritization
- Ensure facilities are compliant with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Monitor and maintain building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, security, etc.) across Modern’s campuses.
- Manage preventative maintenance programs and troubleshoot system failures.
- Plan & manage seasonal activities including but not limited to snow plow removal & lawn care services.
- Plan, design, and implement facility infrastructure improvements, renovations, and expansions.
- Oversee contractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure high-quality project execution.
- Support sustainability initiatives by identifying energy efficiency opportunities.
- Develop and maintain facility documentation, including blueprints, O&M manuals, and equipment logs.
- Analyze system performance and prepare technical reports and recommendations.
- Participate in emergency preparedness planning and response efforts.
- Provide engineering support for space planning, relocations, and workplace safety enhancements.
- Assists in the preparation of cost estimates for projects by conducting RFI/RFP & ROI activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 3- 7 years of experience in facilities engineering or building systems management
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred by not required
- Strong technical understanding of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems.
- Working knowledge of building codes, OSHA standards, and environmental regulations
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, CMMS software, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities for cross-functional collaboration
- Work is performed in both office and field environments.
- May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical inspections in tight spaces or rooftops.
