Shift Lead - 2nd Shift

Role Description The Second (2nd) Shift Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in West Chester, OH, responsible for overseeing daily production activities and coordinating team members on assigned shifts. This role includes monitoring workflow on the press and finishing lines, assigning tasks, and ensuring that quality standards, safety procedures, and production schedules are consistently met. The Shift Lead supports training and guidance for team members, troubleshoots basic equipment and process issues, and communicates shift status, priorities, and any concerns to management. Additional responsibilities include tracking production data, assisting with inventory checks for materials, and helping maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. The role requires a hands-on presence on the production floor and close collaboration with operators, designers, and maintenance staff.

• Production and operations skills, including experience in manufacturing, print production, or packaging environments, and the ability to manage workflow and meet deadlines.
• Leadership and team coordination skills, including assigning tasks, coaching team members, and fostering a respectful, collaborative work culture.
• Quality and safety focus, with skills in following quality standards, inspecting work for accuracy, and adhering to workplace safety protocols.
• Communication and documentation skills, including clear verbal communication, basic written reporting, and effective handoffs between shifts.
• Technical aptitude for learning and operating production equipment and systems, with basic troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage concurrent activities on a busy production floor.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials as needed, and work in a fast-paced, on-site manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role in manufacturing or printing is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required, with additional technical or vocational training considered a plus.
