What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Lead position at MODA4 Design + Architecture?
MODA4 is seeking a Business Development Lead to become part of our team and culture.
The ideal candidate will have experience in business development within the AEC or real estate industry, along with strong skills in relationship-building, market awareness, and pursuit strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships, identifying and advancing opportunities, and supporting the firm’s overall growth strategy within Dayton, the Ohio Valley, and nationally.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, organized, and comfortable working closely with firm leadership to build a consistent pipeline of opportunities—not just close deals. Occasional travel throughout the region is required for this position.
The ideal candidate will have the following abilities and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in related field
- Demonstrated achievement in B2B sales
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Special understanding of the industry, with the ability to become a subject matter expert on the job
- Identify potential clients in the target market and complete appropriate research on the prospective client’s business and development needs
- Oversee and strategize social media initiatives and marketing resources
- Develop relationships with prospective clients, while maintaining existing client relationships
- Help create contract-winning proposals for current and prospective clients
- Become a subject matter expert on our business products, processes and operations, and remain up-to-date on industry news
- Build and maintain target client lists aligned with firm strategy
- Generate and qualify new project leads through regularly-attended networking events, market research, and relationship-building
- Stay informed on local development activity, market trends, and emerging opportunities
- Represent MODA4 at industry events, client meetings, and community engagements
