Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Salesperson role based in Rapid City, SD. The Salesperson will engage with walk-in customers, builders, designers, and other clients to understand their needs and recommend appropriate countertop products and solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include answering product questions, preparing quotes, following up on leads, and guiding customers through the selection, measurement, and installation process. The role will involve maintaining product knowledge, updating the showroom, coordinating with production and installation teams, and ensuring accurate order details. The Salesperson will also support sales documentation, maintain CRM records, and contribute to meeting sales targets while providing a positive customer experience.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to listen, ask clarifying questions, and guide clients through purchase decisions.
- Sales and negotiation abilities, including prospecting, lead follow-up, closing skills, and comfort working toward sales goals.
- Basic technical and product aptitude, with willingness to learn about stone materials, fabrication, installation processes, and measurement details.
- Organization and time-management skills to handle multiple customers, quotes, and projects simultaneously with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for in-person interactions, phone calls, email correspondence, and documentation.
- Comfort working on-site in a showroom and shop environment, including occasional walkthroughs of fabrication or installation areas.
- Proficiency with basic computer tools (email, spreadsheets, CRM or sales software); prior experience with quoting or order-entry systems is a plus.
- Previous experience in sales, construction, home improvement, interior design, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in business, sales, or design is beneficial.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally assist with product samples or showroom materials as needed.
