Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility to promote independence and comfort
- Monitor residents and observe for any changes in health or behavior, reporting concerns promptly to healthcare professionals
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety procedures
- Provide specialized care for individuals with cognitive disabilities, including behavior management techniques
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines and assist residents during meal times to promote social engagement
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and adhering to infection control standards
Skills/Requirements
- Experience working in behavior focus Groups, handling challenging behaviors
- Prior assisted living or long-term care experience, including working with individuals with disabilities
- Ability to perform CPR, first aid, and safe patient lifting practices confidently
- Experience working with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems for documentation and resident records management
- Strong communication skills for engaging effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Familiarity with home & community care practices, group home environments, or residential care homes is highly desirable
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks necessary for resident support
- Familiarity with local laws and regulations
- Current, active APD certifications
- Cleared level 2 background screening
