Assistant General Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced food service environment. Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Supervise and train staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and customer service best practices.
• Manage inventory control processes to minimize waste and ensure adequate stock levels.
• Handle cash management duties, including cash handling procedures and reconciliation.
• Utilize POS system for efficient order processing and reporting.
• Ensure adherence to food safety standards and regulations throughout all areas of food handling and preparation.
• Conduct interviews and participate in the hiring process to build a strong team.
• Lead training and development initiatives to enhance staff skills and techniques, hospitality management, and customer service.
• Assist in budgeting efforts to maintain financial health while optimizing operational efficiency.
• Foster a positive dining experience by addressing customer inquiries or concerns promptly.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in restaurant management or as an Assistant Manager in a quick-service or casual dining environment.
• Strong knowledge of food service management principles, including food production, inventory control, and kitchen management.
• Excellent leadership skills with experience in team management and staff training.
• Background in fine dining or banquet experience is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with cash handling practices and financial oversight within a restaurant setting.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams while maintaining high standards of hospitality.
• Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
