Material Handler

About the Role:

The Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of goods within a retail trade environment by managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and products. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring that all materials are handled safely and in compliance with company policies. The Material Handler supports the assembly line and shipping/receiving operations by utilizing various material handling equipment to move products effectively. This role requires attention to detail to ensure order accuracy and timely processing of shipments, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Ultimately, the Material Handler helps maintain a well-organized warehouse environment that supports the overall supply chain and retail operations across the United States.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
• Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving processes.
• Ability to read and interpret bar codes and inventory labels.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials safely.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a retail trade warehouse or distribution center.
• Familiarity with assembly line operations.
• Certification in forklift operation or other material handling equipment.
• Experience using warehouse management systems or inventory software.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts to move products safely within the warehouse and assembly line areas.
• Perform order picking duties accurately by selecting the correct items and quantities for shipment or assembly.
• Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and properly store materials in designated locations.
• Prepare and package products for shipping, ensuring all items are labeled with bar codes and documentation is complete.
• Work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines and support peak operational periods.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate material flow and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
