Role Description The Home Accessibility Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Allentown, PA. This position focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing home accessibility equipment such as stair lifts, ramps, grab bars, and other adaptive devices in residential settings. The technician conducts site assessments, takes accurate measurements, and follows safety and quality standards to ensure equipment is properly integrated into the home. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting work orders and technical documentation, using hand and power tools, troubleshooting issues, and communicating clearly with customers about usage and maintenance. The role also involves working collaboratively with team members, maintaining accurate records of work performed, and upholding MobilityWorks’ commitment to safety, customer service, and accessibility.

Qualifications

- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain equipment use clearly and respectfully in customers’ homes.
- Attention to safety and detail, including adherence to building codes, manufacturer guidelines, and company quality standards.
- Reliable time management and organizational skills to complete scheduled installations and service calls efficiently.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for local travel to customer locations.
- Comfort with physically active work, including lifting, climbing, and working in varied home environments.
- Prior experience in accessibility installations, home remodeling, HVAC, electrical, or related trades is preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in related fields are a plus.
