Service Technician

About Mobility City

Mobility City is a leading provider of mobility equipment for individuals with disabilities, injuries, and mobility challenges. We provide solutions, professional repair services, and knowledgeable support to help our customers maintain their independence and quality of life.

As a member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for people who rely on mobility equipment every day.

About the Position

We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Service Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on position involving the diagnosis, repair, maintenance, delivery, and installation of mobility and medical equipment, including scooters, power wheelchairs, lift chairs, hospital beds, manual wheelchairs, walkers, ramps, and other related equipment.

Technicians perform repairs both in our shop and at customer locations. The position requires regular local and regional travel in a company vehicle to customers’ homes, assisted living communities, healthcare facilities, and other locations within our service area.

We're looking for someone who enjoys figuring out how things work, isn't intimidated by a new problem, and understands that great customer service is just as important as technical ability.

What You'll Do

· Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mobility and medical equipment.

· Complete repairs both in the shop and at customer locations.

· Assemble, deliver, install, and set up mobility and medical equipment.

· Educate customers and caregivers on proper equipment operation, care, and safety.

· Maintain accurate and detailed service notes, including diagnostic findings, repairs performed, parts needed, and recommended follow-up.

· Assist with customer quotes and approved parts orders.

· Safely operate and maintain an organized service vehicle, tools, parts, and work area.

· Treat customers, their homes, facilities, and equipment with professionalism and respect.

What We're Looking For

· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, as well as a willingness to learn.

· Good communication and customer service skills.

· Dependable, organized, and able to manage time effectively.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Ability to take clear, accurate, and thorough service notes.

· Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.

· Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate a company vehicle.

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Previous experience in mechanical repair, electrical systems, automotive repair, equipment maintenance, field service, or mobility/medical equipment is preferred. Technical certifications or related training are a plus.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position that requires the physical ability to safely handle heavy and bulky mobility and medical equipment throughout the workday.

Technicians must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, load, unload, maneuver, assemble, and service equipment of varying sizes and weights, independently when appropriate and with assistance or equipment when necessary. The position also requires frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and working in various positions while servicing equipment.

Applicants should be comfortable with the physical demands associated with moving equipment such as power wheelchairs, scooters, lift chairs, hospital beds, ramps, batteries, and other durable medical equipment.

Our Team & Culture

Mobility City is a family-owned business; we take a lot of pride in the team we've built, and we're looking for someone who wants to be part of that. We value people who communicate, pitch in, take ownership of their work, and look for solutions instead of stopping at the problem.

Many people come to us during a time when they or someone they love is experiencing a major change in mobility. We want their experience with us to be helpful, comfortable, and even fun. Whether we're repairing a favorite scooter, delivering a new lift chair, or helping someone find equipment that gives them more independence, we want our customers to feel like they're being taken care of by people who care.
