Mobile Service Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Service Technician to join our team, dedicated to maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy equipment, industrial machinery, medium & heavy duty trucks and trailers. In this role, you will be the front line expert responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring equipment operates at peak performance. Your hands-on expertise will keep our operations running smoothly and safely, providing exceptional service to clients and supporting the overall success of our mobile service department. Duties

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics on heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, medium & Heavy duty trucks and trailers using schematics, electrical testing tools, and mechanical knowledge.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, and HVAC components to ensure optimal performance.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and fabrication techniques to assemble or repair machinery parts.
• Conduct tire services, wheel alignments, and vehicle maintenance tasks for various vehicles including tractor-trailers and automotive units.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs with precision while adhering to safety standards.
• Perform heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate equipment such as cranes or forklifts during repairs or installations.
• Interpret schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose issues and execute precise repairs or replacements.
• Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings for accountability and future reference.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations including air brake systems, emissions standards, and other industry-specific requirements.
• Support team members by sharing knowledge of mechanical systems such as transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and automotive diagnostics.
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair processes clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction with service outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Service Technician or Mechanic with a strong background in heavy equipment operation and repair.
• Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with OEM standards and advanced diagnostics.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems including transmissions, hydraulics, suspension components, HVAC systems, diesel engines, brakes (including air brake systems), shocks & struts.
• Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; capable of using hand tools and power tools efficiently.
• Ability to read schematics accurately for electrical wiring diagrams or mechanical assemblies.
• Experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts (certified preferred), farm machinery or industrial equipment is advantageous.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills combined with automotive diagnostics expertise.
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely; comfortable working in various environmental conditions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance issues before they escalate.

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
