Mobile Medical Response (MMR) is seeking a skilled and motivated IT Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of our technology environment. This position is based in our Saginaw, Michigan office and serves as a key leader in ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient IT operations across the organization. The IT Manager will oversee the delivery of outsourced IT services, manage technology projects and change initiatives, and drive collaboration with vendors and strategic partners to support MMR’s mission of providing exceptional patient service
Essential Duties:
- Know and support the Mission Statement, Policy/Procedures and standards of MMR.
- Oversee the performance and delivery of MMR’s outsourced IT services, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and continuous improvement in service quality.
- Manage incident and problem management processes to minimize downtime and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Lead change management efforts related to IT systems, ensuring minimal operational disruption and proper communication across departments.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute technology projects, including system upgrades, integrations, and deployments.
- Evaluate and select vendors and technology partners, ensuring optimal value, performance, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Maintain oversight of IT budgets, contracts, and lifecycle planning for hardware, software, and infrastructure.
- Develop and enforce IT policies, standards, and procedures to ensure security, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technology needs, recommend solutions, and support digital transformation initiatives.
- Serve as a key liaison between MMR leadership, operational departments, and external IT.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Knowledge, Skill and Competency Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field;
OR
- Associate’s degree in a relevant discipline with 5 years of applicable experience in IT management or service delivery
- Knowledge of the EMS industry or related field preferred (healthcare and/or public safety technology environments)
- Familiarity with HIPAA, NIST or other compliance frameworks preferred
- ITIL, PMP or other relevant certifications preferred
- Must be available for recall 24 hours a day for emergency situations
- Must reside within 30 miles of main operations center
- Three to five years of prior work experience in network administration and various software applications
- Experience managing a variety of network firmware, including firewall, bridge, router, switch and telecom firmware.
- Experience with hi-cap telecommunications and broadband wireless networks
- Experience with systems analysis and review, project development and oversight
- Demonstrated experience managing outsourced IT environments and vendor relationships.
- Proven track record in project management and change management within complex or regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of IT service management (ITSM) principles, including incident, problem, and change management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mission-driven organization
- Ability to communicate effectively and exercise authority with logic and consistency
- Ability to objectively evaluate performance of subordinates
- Knowledge of complex activities and operations of state, federal and local legislative bodies, and governmental and community agencies
- Assess and effectively advocate the position of MMR in EMS
- Strong knowledge of rules, regulations/guidelines and laws pertaining to EMS and ambulance operations and the ability to identify critical issues, economic vulnerabilities, measurements and information sources
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, in a professional manner with customers and vendors
- Ability to exercise authority within given limits with logic and consistency
- Advanced computer skills including the ability to utilize a computer PC with Windows operating system
- Ability to plan and coordinate logistics in an effective and efficient manner
- Knows the strategy, structure, power networks, financial position and systems of MMR
- Able to serve as an effective role model
- Maintain sound budgetary practices
- Exercise initiative, judgment and problem-solving decision making
- Develop effective working relationships with staff, government agencies and the public
- Must complete initial and annual Bloodborne Pathogens Training
- Achieve organization’s goals and objectives
- Possess and maintain a valid Michigan driver license and maintain an acceptable driving record as defined by MMR’s insurance carrier
