Duties
- Oversee daily clinic operations, ensuring seamless coordination between medical, administrative, and support staff.
- Manage fiscal responsibilities including budgeting, financial reporting, billing processes, and expense control using systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or eClinicalWorks.
- Supervise medical office staff, including receptionists, nurses, and administrative personnel, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain the confidentiality of medical records and patient information.
- Oversee human resources functions such as hiring, training, performance evaluations, and staff development initiatives.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to optimize clinic workflow and improve patient care delivery within EMR/EHR systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks.
- Monitor clinic performance metrics related to utilization management, managed care contracts, and quality standards such as JCAHO accreditation requirements.
- Implement policies for medical administrative support tasks including appointment scheduling, medical records management, and billing procedures.
- Lead efforts in clinic marketing strategies and patient satisfaction initiatives to enhance community engagement.
Experience
- Proven experience managing a medical or dental office with strong knowledge of practice management principles.
- Extensive background in fiscal management including budgeting, financial analysis, and revenue cycle management.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience overseeing multidisciplinary teams in healthcare environments.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or eClinicalWorks is essential.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance and JCAHO standards.
- Experience working within acute care or hospital settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and insurance processes such as managed care is required.
- Prior experience in dental clinic management or veterinary practice management will be considered an asset.
