Shipping Supervisor
Summary/Objective
Ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the shipping department.
Assignment -Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
- Direct movement of materials from shipping area to staging area.
- Study shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet deadlines.
- Develop work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
- Arrange transportation according to customer instruction and standard.
- Inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with best practices specifications.
- Ensure the Shipping area is organized and clean at all times and meets all compliance requirements.
- Conduct training, development, and performance-monitoring activities of each employee in department.
Physical Demands
- Lift 50 pounds.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma.
- 2 years of previous supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Forklift license or certification.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics.
