Our Seed Production Team grows, harvests, cleans, and prepares high-quality native seed from more than 100 species across multiple production farms. The team combines field production, equipment operation, and seed processing to deliver seed products that support ecological restoration across the region.
The Opportunity
We are hiring a full-time Native Seed Production Technician to support field production, harvest, and seed processing activities.
This role is primarily a hands-on field and production position, supporting planting, weed management, harvest, and seed cleaning throughout the year. In addition, this position offers the opportunity to grow into equipment operation and take on increasing responsibility with tractors, combines, and other specialized equipment used in seed production.
During peak field seasons, work will focus on planting, crop maintenance, and harvest operations. During off-peak and processing periods, work will shift toward seed cleaning, equipment support, and facility upkeep.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys physical, outdoor work, has mechanical aptitude, and is interested in developing equipment skills over time.

What You Will Do
Field Production & Harvest
- Assist with field operations including planting, transplanting, weed management, and crop maintenance.
- Support weed control activities including hand pulling, chemical spot treatments, and mechanical methods.
- Assist with crop establishment and field preparation.
- Participate in manual and mechanical harvest operations.
- Handle harvested seed material and support movement between field and storage locations.
- Assist with seed cleaning and conditioning using specialized equipment.
- Operate seed processing equipment to separate and prepare seed for storage or sale.
- Monitor seed quality and report concerns related to contamination or condition.
- Support safe handling and organization of seed lots during processing.
- Operate or assist with tractors, skid loaders, combines, and other equipment used in seed production.
- Support equipment setup and adjustments for different crops and field conditions.
- Gain experience operating equipment during planting, maintenance, and harvest activities.
- Assist with routine equipment maintenance including inspections, lubrication, and basic service.
- Help identify equipment issues and support basic troubleshooting or repairs.
- Work with the Seed Operations Manager to maintain equipment readiness.
- Assist with basic fabrication or equipment improvements as skills develop.
- Experience or strong interest in agriculture, ecological restoration, landscaping, or related field work.
- Interest in working with equipment and developing mechanical skills over time.
- Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions, indoors in dusty environments (with proper PPE), and in physically demanding environments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions and processes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort using tools or working around equipment.
- Experience operating equipment such as tractors or skid loaders is a plus.
- Ability to learn equipment operation, maintenance, and seed processing systems.
- A Commercial Pesticide Applicator License or willingness to obtain one within 3 months.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
