Primary Responsibilities
- Work directly assisting the Business Development Representative(s) to drive sales through the branch by developing customer quotes, sourcing products aiming for best margins, and following up on all communication.
- Perform all duties in accordance with the MNI Direct company policies as it pertains to Sales and Quoting Processes.
- Submit all qualified quotes to the Quoting Coordinator on a timely basis. Communicate and follow up with the customers on submitted quotes.
- Meet or exceed budgeted goals and objectives on assigned accounts. Communicate with all assigned accounts on a weekly basis via email, text, and/or phone. Document customer contacts
- Cold calling potential customers and follow up on sales leads.
- Branch customer service and sales
- Build a relationship with walk-in customers to service their needs and build trust with the MNI Direct company brand.
- Assist in selecting, loading, and billing the customers that visit the branch, and coordinating customer deliveries when needed.
- Make sure all customer orders are flagged/tagged and secured for customer pick up or delivery.
- Suggest inventory needs based on sales, and customer request to stock the yard.
- Work with Branch Sales Supervisor, branch team and regional buyer to order products for customer needs
- Coordinate with and assist the MNI Direct operations by:
- Assist with the health and appeal of the plants in the yard.
- Assist in making sure all items in the yard are priced and signed
- Perform other duties as required for sales which can include small deliveries to local customers and assisting with day-to-day branch operations.
Required Skills, Knowledge & Training
EDUCATION:
- High School diploma or secondary diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in Horticulture field preferred.
SKILLS AND TRAINING:
- Product knowledge at an above-average level
- Ability to operate the customer ordering and inventory system.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all business associates.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Expert customer service skills
- Ability and desire to learn plant names, characteristics, and sources.
- Possess and maintain a valid, clean state Driver’s License.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged sitting and standing
- Ability to lift 20-50 lbs.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (M-F)
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
