Role Description The Senior Director/VP of Engineering is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Redwood City, CA, responsible for overseeing the end-to-end engineering function for mmWave broadband products. This role leads multidisciplinary engineering teams, sets technical direction, and ensures alignment of engineering roadmaps with business strategy and product goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing engineering resources, driving execution of complex development programs, and establishing best practices in design, verification, and release processes. The leader will collaborate closely with product management, operations, sales, and customer support to define requirements, prioritize features, and deliver high-quality, high-performance mmWave solutions on schedule. Additional responsibilities include mentoring engineering leaders, building organizational capabilities, managing vendor and foundry relationships, and championing continuous improvement, innovation, and compliance with quality standards.
Qualifications
- Strong Engineering Management skills, including organizational planning, process development, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Proven Team Leadership capabilities, with experience building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing technical teams.
- Hands-on background in Software Development or embedded/firmware engineering within complex hardware or communications systems.
- Demonstrated Project Management expertise in leading multi-phase, multi-stakeholder engineering initiatives from concept through production.
- Extensive Product Development experience, ideally with RF/mmWave, communications, or semiconductor-based products.
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience); experience with MMIC, RF design, or broadband systems is highly beneficial.
- Track record of strategic planning, technology roadmap ownership, and delivering products to market in fast-paced, innovation-focused environments.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at executive and customer levels.
- Experience working with external foundries, suppliers, and technical partners, and managing engineering budgets and resources.
