Direct Care Staff Job Description:
The essence of the description of the Childcare Worker - Direct Care Staff is best stated as she/he is accountable for meeting the needs of the youth and provide adequate care and supervision of MYS Youth residents individually and in groups, at all times, in accordance with applicable law, licensing regulations, and facility policies.
Direct Care Staff Responsibilities and Duties:
Direct care staff shall perform but not limited to the following duties:
• Knowledge and understanding of the needs of youth served by MYS.
• Shall possess skills and ability to engage and develop a rapport with children who have various backgrounds and needs.
• Shall possess skills and ability to provide consistency and behavioral limits through relationship-based interventions.
• Shall possess skills to communicate effectively with the ability to solve problems in a collaborative manner.
• Possess the ability to apply the reasonable and prudent parent standard to decisions involving the participation of a child in age or developmentally appropriate activities.
• Shall possess skills and ability to provide Trauma informed solutions.
