Loom Technician

:

Looking for a skilled Loom Technician with strong mechanical skills and electronic skills with industrial machinery along with the ability to communicate effectively. The loom technician will report to the plant supervisor and will be responsible for detailed and accurate work. :

• Will setup, adjust and repair looms to weave specified quantity, design and quality using knowledge of loom functions, weaving diagrams and manuals.
• Responsible for diagnosing troubleshooting, repairing a variety of industrial machinery.
• Diagnoses and repairs loom malfunctions as reported by weaver.
• Assures that the startups, and restarts are as prompt as possible
• Completes accurate documentation of any issues
• Ensure proper weaving settings are carried out for quality and to product specifications.
• Provide and check samples prior to production including new start ups
• Monitors quality from looms as well as makes department walk thru to visually spot check edge formation, width and general appearance of product.
• Assure product remains clean and free of spots, dirt, and discolorations.
• Examine the products by feel and measurements to identify defects and variations from processing standards. Periodically record relevant measurements and quality observations and production data.
• Check and repair machinery as well as maintain a preventative maintenance program on all production equipment such as heat setting range, finishing range, blockers and warper.
• Maintain the spare parts inventory to assure maximized uptime on production equipment.
• In absence of weaver, perform all weavers’ functions.
• Safety is paramount. Always follow safety rules and guidelines.
• Always keep work area clean and follow housekeeping guidelines and standards.

• Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers and management
• Must be attentive, watching and listening for any problems in area of responsibility
• Ability to understand and follow the requirements of applicable work instructions and/or internal specifications.
• Ability to take measurements with rulers and calipers in imperial and metric units.
• Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules and work instructions, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Have legible hand writing to document quality and performance data.
• Possess basic mathematical skills.
• Basic understanding of good manufacturing practices and working within regulated industries.
• Excellent dependability and reliability.

• This position very frequently is required to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time and be able to do some lifting.

• 2 years mechanical experience in manufacturing or industrial environment
• Prior loom technician experience required.
• Knowledge of mechanical operations such as weaving, warping, and other textile manufacturing processes is preferred.
• Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
