What are the responsibilities and job description for the QAQC Technician (Steel & Storage Tank Fabrications) position at MMI Tank?
General Duties:
- Responsible for the execution of the Company's QAQC Manual Control, Supervision of all amendments and revisions.
- Control and Distribution of all the Company's Quality Documentation.
- Monitor all quality-related activities from shop fabrication through finishing operations.
- Responsible for fabricated materials conforming to drawings, shop standards, customer satisfaction, applications, and maintaining records of the same.
- Review quality inspection(s) required for each specific governing code.
- Control the deposition of all issued nonconformance reports.
- Verify the Company's quality requirements are specified to vendors and contractors through documentation submittals.
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections of shop fabrication, weld preparations, and final welds. Witness all hydro testing and NDE inspections.
- Prepare and control of project (s) quality system management documentation before project start.
- Coordinate all QAQC activities with Production Mgr, Shop Mgr, Coatings Mgr, Tank Mgr, and Millwright Supervisor.
- Ensures materials and workmanship meet applicable industry codes and standards.
- Creates and proofs all WPS & PQRs documents.
- Assist shop personnel with the interpretation of drawings and specifications.
- Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system. Recommend and implement improvements when required.
- Provides technical expertise, leadership, time management, problem-solving orientation, and computer literacy.
- Review the employee training matrix to keep current shop welder recertification (s).
- Work in conjunction with Production Mgr for Shop welder testing, certification, and performance.
Review weekly shop production schedule, specific project welding requirements & QAQC specifications.
