Flex Shift Supervisor-Warren

MMI Engineered Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor to join our Team. Our ideal candidate will have at least five (5) years of processing experience (plastic injection molding). The Flex Shift Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the shift meets cost, quality and through put standards. This is achieved by providing leadership, guidance and coaching to all shift personnel. The ideal candidate Should have extensive knowledge in Maintenance related to Plastic injection molding.

the Schedule will be : Shift A

and Alternating between Shift B, C & D upon schedule needs.

Essential Functions

• Direct and supervise production personnel during assigned shift coverage.
• Serve as shift performance owner (cost, quality, throughput, safety) when covering for other supervisors.
• Lead shift start-ups, assign work, and adjust labor resources based on production needs.
• Oversee cell setup and coordinate mold changes in strict accordance with the production schedule.
• Move jobs in IQMS and ensure document and production data accuracy.
• Ensure first article compliance prior to production release.
• Monitor staffing levels and coordinate break coverage.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and quality expectations.
• Document shift performance and ensure effective shift-to-shift communication.
• Initiate and document corrective action when employees fail to follow policies or procedures.
• Coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities during primary day-shift assignment.
• Prioritize maintenance work orders to minimize downtime and maximize uptime.
• Monitor maintenance KPIs including response time, downtime, PM completion, and backlog.
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  
  

Responsibility for Quality

• Authority to stop production for quality issues.
• Responsible for shift-to-shift quality communication.
• Must ensure first article compliance.
• Ensure compliance with documented quality systems and environmental standards.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
• 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a multi-shift manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated maintenance coordination or technical maintenance experience.
• Injection molding manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of LOTO, machine guarding, PPE, and manufacturing safety practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in IQMS, CMMS, and standard business software.
