Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently within designated routes as well as overlooking the safety and compliance of company equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of tractor-trailer operations and dry van trailers. The Local Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations.

Duties
- Perform daily inspections on trucks and trailers in the yard
- Load / unload shipments as assigned by Dispatch Team
- Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle
- Drive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) below 80,000 lbs.
- Ensure timely deliveries
- Communicate with dispatch as needed
- Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times
- Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs
- Adhere to company rules and regulations
- Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/road conditions
- Comply with ICC and DOT regulations
- Make safety a priority at all times
Qualifications
- Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) is required.
- Clean driving record with no moving violations
- Must pass a drug test
- Experience: Operating Tractor-Trailers (Required)
- Strong knowledge of route driving and local traffic regulations.
- Ability to load and unload freight safely using appropriate equipment.
- Excellent time management skills with a focus on punctuality.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
