As a Payroll Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring our clients' payroll processes run smoothly and accurately. You will leverage your expertise in UKG/Ulti Pro HRIS systems to process payroll, maintain data integrity, and ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations. Additionally, you will be a key point of contact for our clients, providing exceptional customer service and resolving any payroll-related inquiries promptly and professionally.
The primary responsibility of this position is processing payroll which includes:
- Payroll data entry: process, calculate, post for weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly or monthly payrolls as assigned utilizing UKG Ready software
- Ensure payrolls are processed in a timely and accurate manner
- Ability to compile payroll data such as garnishments, adjustments, vacation time, sick time, and deductions
- Manage and maintain employee payroll data within our HRIS system, including deductions and tax withholdings.
- Capacity to review time & attendance information for completeness and accuracy
- Maintain accurate payroll records and generate payroll reports
- Process garnishments, new hires, employee changes, terminations and deductions
- Compliance with policy, state and regulatory requirements
- Reviews computed wages and corrects errors to ensure the accuracy of earnings
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, relevant industry regulations, tax, and deduction laws.
- Preparing payroll reports for management and auditing purposes.
- Respond to employee inquiries and requests regarding payroll matters
- Process manual checks as requested
- Assist with year-end payroll processing and reporting.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities;
- Experience with Ulti Pro/UKG Ready a major plus
- 2-5 years of experience in a professional services environment and experience in payroll operations
- FPC or CPP certification a plus
- Understanding of multi-state taxation rules
- Knowledge of multi state payroll processing
- Advanced computer skills; proficient in MS Office
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to listen, communicate (written and verbal), excellent grammar, spelling and proofreading skills and follow-up effectively with all staffing levels and clients
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
