What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller (Corporate - SaaS) position at MMC Group LP?
MMC Group is hiring for a hands-on Corporate Controller for our client based in Dallas, TX!
We are partnering with a market-leading, high-growth Healthcare SaaS platform (backed by a Fortune 500 corporate parent) to find a highly strategic, hands-on Controller.
This is not a maintenance role; this is a true builder’s opportunity. The company is undergoing a period of massive financial transformation and scale. We are looking for a technical accounting leader who can drop into a high-growth environment, completely optimize and/or migrate their ERP architecture (NetSuite/Oracle), and build out scalable, SOX-ready internal controls from scratch.
If you are a Controller with a CPA who lives and breathes complex SaaS revenue (ASC 606), software capitalization (ASC 350-40), and loves the challenge of taking an accounting department to the next level, this is the role for you.
What You Will Build & Own:
- SaaS Revenue & Technical Accounting: Serve as the subject matter expert on SaaS accounting. Own complex revenue recognition (ASC 606) for multi-element arrangements and manage the capitalization of internal software development and R&D (ASC 350-40).
- System Migration & ERP Architecture: Spearhead the evaluation, migration, and optimization of large-scale financial systems (specifically NetSuite, Oracle Fusion, Zuora). You will design and implement automated workflows and system integrations from the ground up.
- Process Architecture & SOX Readiness: Build, document, and implement scalable internal controls and accounting policies from scratch. Establish a rigorous, SOX-compliant control environment to mitigate risk and safeguard assets.
- Core Controllership & Close Operations: Take end-to-end ownership of the month-end and year-end close. Lead the review of all balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries to ensure strict US GAAP compliance.
- Financial Reporting: Partner with FP&A and the executive team to deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, board presentations, and variance analysis.
- Team Leadership: Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing corporate accounting team capable of keeping pace with heavy organizational growth.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Active CPA strongly preferred.
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years leading a team as a Controller or Director of Accounting.
- Direct B2B SaaS experience is highly preferred, with proven mastery of ASC 606 (deferred revenue/subscription models) and ASC 350-40.
- Heavy experience leading ERP implementations, system migrations, or massive workflow optimizations (NetSuite, Oracle, Workday, or Zuora experience is a major plus).
- A "builder" mindset: You have a proven track record of stepping into unstructured environments, cleaning up processes, and building scalable frameworks from scratch.
Salary : $200,000 - $220,000
