What are the responsibilities and job description for the NURSE EXTERN- (RN Extern) for Oncology setting - Per-Diem position at MMC #1?
Opportunity to work alongside Oncology clinical staff and RNs in a collaborative care setting. The Nurse Extern role is designed to provide expanded clinical experience for professional (RN) nursing students and to assist the Registered Nursing staff by performing patient care activities, which includes participating in patient care planning, implementation, observation and evaluation, as well as reporting significant observations to a Registered Nurse and members of the Oncology care team.
SUMMARY
Assists the Professional Nurse and the Practical Nurse with the daily routine and functions of the Nursing Units by the completion of both indirect and direct patient care activities.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
High School diploma or equivalent.
Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Current BLS Healthcare Provider card.
