What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Master Scheduler position at MM Solutions?
The Operations Master Scheduler will be responsible for the master production plan and all scheduling for the customer manufacturing business units. This individual is responsible for translating customer demand, material availability, and production capacity into a cohesive, data-driven operational plan that drives on-time delivery, throughput, and resource optimization across MM Solutions. They will analyze data to identify risks and opportunities, create and manage comprehensive project plans & resources across multiple departments, and ensure effective communication between teams and stakeholders to achieve goals.
The ideal candidate combines deep scheduling and systems knowledge with the ability to anticipate constraints, communicate tradeoffs, and drive alignment across departments. This position requires a solutions mindset and confidence; taking charge when needed, driving decisions, and guiding discussions toward solutions in a collaborative, respectful manner.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The offered salary is $80,000 - 100,000 annually, DOE. This position is FLSA exempt.

Essential Job Functions:
- Proactively own the production schedule from end to end, keeping resources balanced, adapting to customer changes, and making sure we hit commitments while maintaining smart stocking levels.
- Effectively allocate and manage necessary resources, including, equipment, and materials and schedule personnel.
- Lead daily/weekly coordination with Production, Customer Service and Engineering to validate readiness and mitigate bottlenecks.
- Implement and continuously improve scheduling systems, including Salesforce and related planning software, to maximize visibility, accuracy, and efficiency across operations.
- Collaborate with Customer Service & Sales to understand client needs and opportunities. Liaise with internal teams, management, and external stakeholders to ensure everyone is informed and aligned
- Identify systemic causes of schedule volatility and lead initiatives to improve predictability and workflow efficiency.
- Support Lean and ISO 9001 initiatives by improving process standardization and reducing non-value-added activities.
- Monitor performance, generate real time statistics to measure work completed against forecast to gauge performance. Gather data about productivity and work with teams to optimize resources.
- Develop forecasting data for existing projects as well as pipeline products targeted for orders. Use data-driven scenario planning to help the company anticipate growth needs and test operational “what-if” situations.
- Analyze capacity loads versus available resources and propose potential workarounds.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project); Familiarity with Salesforce a plus.
- Good business acumen and experience with business and management principles involved in strategic planning, leadership techniques, and coordination of team members.
- Strong knowledge of raw materials, production process, costs, and techniques to maximize the effective manufacturing of goods.
- Ability to analyze information and evaluate results and choose the best solution for solving a problem.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with external candidates and internal cross-functional team members (service, sales, production, QA, finance, etc.)
- Anticipate the downstream impact of new information and adjust schedules, priorities, and plans to support sound operational decision-making.
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or product development environment strongly preferred.
- A bachelor's degree in business, engineering or a related field. Master’s degree a plus
- Experience with complex, high-mix, low-volume environments (aerospace, custom or contract manufacturing) is strongly preferred.
- 5-10 years of Operations and/or increasing Planner experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong aptitude for coordinating cross-functional teams and managing complex schedules in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with customer inventory systems, parts databases, or ERP/MRP tools preferred.
