Role Summary
The Construction Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and controlling detailed project schedules to ensure successful project delivery. This role requires coordination with project management teams, field supervision, subcontractors, and suppliers to track progress, forecast schedule performance, and mitigate delays across all project phases.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the project baseline schedule from project inception through project completion
- Update and manage schedule progress in alignment with field conditions and reporting cycles
- Perform Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis, float evaluation, and schedule risk assessments
- Conduct schedule forecasting, including 2–6 week look-ahead planning
- Develop and support Time Impact Analysis (TIA) for change orders and project delays
- Coordinate closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Identify schedule risks and develop recovery or mitigation strategies
- Prepare, present, and communicate schedule updates, progress reports, and recovery plans to project teams, owners, and stakeholders
- Present schedule analysis in meetings, including critical path, milestones, delays, and mitigation strategies in a clear and professional format
- Maintain accurate documentation of schedule revisions, assumptions, and constraints
Preferred Experience
- Data Center construction projects
- Commercial construction (office, retail, mixed-use developments)
- Life Sciences / Pharmaceutical facilities
- Experience working in fast-paced, multi-phased construction environments
Scheduling Software & Technical Skills
- Oracle Primavera P6 (preferred for large commercial and infrastructure projects)
- Microsoft Project (small to mid-size project scheduling)
- Procore (project coordination and field integration)
- Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM and schedule integration with field management tools)
- Microsoft Excel
Key Schedule Components
- Baseline and updated project schedules
- Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
- Activity sequencing and logic ties (CPM methodology)
- Labor, equipment, and resource assignments
- Material procurement and long-lead item tracking
- Project milestones and turnover/commissioning activities
- Critical path identification and float analysis
- Progress tracking and variance reporting against baseline
