We are seeking a motivated and experienced Tree Climber / Lift Operator / Crew Leader to join our dynamic arboriculture team. Duties
- Lead tree climbing operations using arborist rigging techniques, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed during all activities.
- Operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment to access high branches safely for pruning, removal, or inspection tasks.
- Perform rigging and dismantling of hazardous or large trees with precision, utilizing appropriate arborist rigging techniques.
- Conduct tree removal, pruning, trimming, and plant care to promote healthy growth and landscape aesthetics.
- Use GIS (Geographic Information System) tools to map and document tree locations and project sites accurately.
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as lawn care, planting, and general horticulture to support overall site health.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, safety inspections, and equipment usage; ensure all work complies with safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to plan daily operations, assign tasks, and ensure efficient project completion.
- Adhere to all safety protocols while operating chainsaws, bucket trucks, and other equipment; promote a culture of safety on-site.
Experience
- Proven experience in tree climbing, including the use of arborist rigging techniques for complex pruning or removal projects.
- Hands-on experience operating bucket trucks or aerial lifts in outdoor environments.
- Strong knowledge of tree care practices such as pruning, trimming, plant health assessment, and tree removal procedures.
- Familiarity with GIS mapping tools and landscape maintenance practices including lawn care and landscaping.
- Demonstrated ability to lead crews effectively while maintaining high safety standards.
- Knowledge of horticulture principles, dendrology (study of trees), and growing practices is highly desirable.
- Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions; physical stamina for demanding physical tasks is essential.
- Certifications in chainsaw operation, arborist rigging techniques, or related fields are a plus but not mandatory.
