About The Job
As an Environmental Specialist, you’ll support environmental compliance and continuous improvement across MLC facilities through hands‑on fieldwork, training, inspections, and data management.
- Support regulatory compliance programs (SPCC, SWPP, UIC, air permitting, waste management).
- Conduct facility inspections, audits, and daily environmental tours.
- Collect and analyze water samples and environmental data.
- Deliver environmental training and help update training materials.
- Participate in Environmental Pillar and Learning Team activities.
- Document inspections, incidents, and corrective actions in the environmental management system.
- Assist with SDS management and environmental documentation updates.
- Travel to assigned facilities for inspections, sampling, meetings, and training (approx. 25%).
- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, Biology, Hydrology, Geology, or related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
- Ability to learn job‑specific technologies, collect and compile environmental data, and work in a plant environment (approx. 70% of work time).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Basic understanding of environmental regulations, permits, and compliance programs.
- EPA RCRA Hazardous Waste, DOT HazMat, and opacity training (or willingness to obtain after hire).
