Senior Coordinator, Brand Marketing

The Senior Coordinator, Brand Marketing will be responsible for the project management and execution of marketing support provided to MLB initiatives throughout the year. While subject to change and year-over-year fluctuation, examples of initiatives requiring marketing support could include Rivalry Weekend, All-Star Game, MLB.TV, etc.

Reporting to the Director, Brand Marketing and collaborating across the organization, the Senior Coordinator will work to consistently apply MLB’s brand strategy and platform to develop the overall marketing strategy, messaging, and tactics to drive the initiatives to success.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Director of Brand Marketing to develop and apply a standard brand marketing framework for executing upon all initiatives - goal, objectives, strategy, and tactics – while leading the development of this framework for their assigned initiatives.  
  • Solicit input from various stakeholders across the organization (internal and external to Marketing) before crafting a creative brief optimizing campaign development (i.e., the right message for the right audience with the right assets for the right channels).
  • Develop and implement the necessary project management tools (workback schedules, status meetings, executive updates) to ensure every initiative is executed on a timely basis.
  • Manage agency or internal creative concept and asset reviews while also trafficking assets to necessary stakeholders for input, approval, and final use.
  • Partner with Marketing Planning and Analytics to establish pre-initiative KPIs that inform a performance dashboard to track the success and key learnings of the marketing support provided to the initiative.
  • Contributes to the development of the annual marketing strategy, ensuring all activity ultimately serves our ability to drive viewership, ticketing, and other key organizational priorities.  

Qualifications & Skills

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in marketing, advertising, communications, business, or related field and 2 years’ experience in marketing or related functional area; OR equivalent relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to the shaping and forming of marketing strategy through qualitative and quantitative research, leveraging a balance of both “GM”-style skills as well as consumer engagement acumen
  • Understanding and appreciation of the history and culture of baseball preferred

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 (Base Salary) Bonus 

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
