POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager, Finance Operations is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day financial operations, complex bookkeeping activities, and budget reporting function. This role provides leadership and direction for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Billing while ensuring accurate financial records, effective internal controls, and timely departmental budget reporting. The position plays a key role in financial analysis, process improvement, and cross‑functional support to drive data‑informed business decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Operations
- Oversee complex bookkeeping activities to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company policies and applicable standards.
- Review and ensure the integrity of monthly, quarterly, and annual finance operations data.
- Support period‑end close processes in collaboration with accounting
Reporting & Data Analysis
- Prepare and analyze financial, operational, and departmental reports for leadership.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data analysis and provide actionable recommendations.
- Support audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Partner with leadership on ad hoc analysis and strategic initiatives.
Budgeting
- Coordinate departmental budget tracking and reporting.
- Monitor budget‑to‑actual performance and investigate variances.
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with department leaders.
- Ensure financial data supports informed operational and strategic decision‑making.
People Leadership & Supervision
- Directly supervise Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Billing functions.
- Provide coaching, development, performance management, and day‑to‑day leadership to finance operations staff.
- Ensure adequate coverage, cross‑training, and continuity of critical finance processes.
Process Improvement & Systems Support
- Evaluate and improve financial workflows and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Partner with IT and cross‑functional teams on system improvements, implementations, or upgrades impacting finance operations.
- Document standard operating procedures and ensure consistent execution.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration OR 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, book keeper or finance operations.
- Prior experience supervising or leading accounting staff.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP/financial systems.
- Proven ability to analyze financial data and present clear insights to leadership.
