No Charter bus CDL driving experience is needed, just an open mind, the willingness to learn, and work as part of the Mlaker Family. Whether you have millions of miles of experience driving, or none at all we can help you become a safe and competent Charter bus driver by completing our in-house driver training program. All training cost is at no cost to you.
Charter bus drivers transport many different types of groups. The majority or our trips are for established groups, these groups range from school and college sports teams to adult and senior citizens organizations. The passengers we transport are attending sport competitions, casinos, sporting events, theater shows and sightseeing at tourist destinations. The Most common trip is a one-day trip, but we have trips as long as 7 plus days. All overnight accommodations are provided to the driver at no cost. Full time driver's average workweek is 40-50 hours and part time 20-30 hours. The bus industry has busy and slower time of the year and hours worked will fluctuate around the different times of year. The typical drivers day is around 10-15 hours long, but most days you will only drive an average of 6 or less hours. Full time driver can expect to work 3-5 days per week. This job brings lots of different scenery from across the country; this is a fun exciting job with lots of perks.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate and drive the tour bus, ensuring the comfort and safety of all passengers.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with passengers and addressing their needs.
- Assist children and seniors as necessary, ensuring a positive experience during the journey.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the bus to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized bus environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in bus driving and paratransit services
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with passengers
- Ability to work with children and provide excellent customer service
- Mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle maintenance
