Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer (Medical AI Platform)

About The Role

Our client is the world's leading AI medical information platform, valued at $1 billion and backed by investors including Sequoia Capital and the Mayo Clinic. Their platform is used by healthcare providers worldwide to deliver accurate, sourced, and cited answers from peer-reviewed medical literature at the point of care.

They are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer to join the Core Engineering team. This is a mission-critical role with significant technical scope and direct patient impact. You will architect and scale the entire infrastructure ecosystem, handling sensitive medical data at scale while ensuring the platform is both highly innovative and extremely reliable.

Responsibilities

• Architect and Scale Systems: Drive architectural decisions and initiatives across performance optimization, infrastructure design, security, and data pipelines
• Backend Development & Operation: Design, implement, and operate new backend services and APIs, ensuring high reliability and low latency
• Site Reliability: Own and operate key backend production services and institute technological and operational processes to improve site reliability
• DevOps & CI/CD: Develop and troubleshoot robust CI/CD pipelines
• Resource Optimization: Maintain and optimize key backend resources, such as databases, caches, and load balancers
• Collaboration: Coordinate closely with fellow software engineers, ML engineers, and product designers to execute platform requirements
• On-Call: Participate in a limited on-call escalation rotation (about one week per month, daylight only)
  
  

Requirements

• 4 years of experience as a Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer or Platform Backend Engineer
• Prior experience should be at a growth-stage (Series D ) startup or large-scale tech company
• A proven track record of building and scaling production systems
• Thrives in a focused startup environment and is energized by building highly reliable healthcare infrastructure
