Job purpose

The Level 1 Technician performs basic turbine services or installation tasks. The Level 1 Technician will have 12 months or less of documented experience or training. They will partner and communicate with the Lead Technician or a senior technician to execute contract requirements and timelines and ensure alignment with operational excellence.

Duties and responsibilities

• Perform and complete tasks in a timely manner as agreed upon with your supervisor.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic component maintenance and repair under supervision as needed.
• Participate in toolbox talks and JSA.
• Assist with preventive maintenance, daily operations, & large component replacement.
• Complete required and accurate documentation associated with corrective and preventive maintenance of wind turbines and associated equipment; maintain records of documentation.
• Assist with troubleshooting components and equipment.
• Utilize appropriate safety gear, protective equipment, and control or dissipation of energy sources to ensure work is performed in a safe manner.
• Properly maintain tools and equipment used to perform assigned maintenance/installation assignments.
• Maintain required training certifications and qualifications to enable personnel to safely perform work-related tasks in a quality & safe manner.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and utilize all PPE required.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

• Experience using basic power tools.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic wind technician certificates. (GWO BST, BTT, Confined Space Awareness, NFPA70E, Rigging and Signaling, OSHA 10)
• Required certifications must be valid throughout the entirety of the project.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Some wind experience or certification from an accredited training facility.
• Willingness to learn and the ability to be coached.
• Ability to make decisions and act when time or customer pressures are apparent.

Working conditions

The employee may be required to wear appropriate PPE equipment. The employee could occasionally be exposed to extreme temperatures, fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level in the workplace is moderate.

Physical requirements

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb up to 110 meters.
• Does not exceed 300lbs with full climbing equipment.
• Work Remotely 80% of the time minimum.
