Systems Engineer II - Integrator

Systems Engineer in support of requirements, test, and integration of space vehicles and ground systems for commercial and DoD customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a point of contact for Ground Integration interfacing with the customer onsite representative with all system requirements affecting the facility.
- Daily face-to-face interaction with customer and contractor staff to respond to requests for information.
- Understand customer needs and develop them into technical requirements, establishing a schedule to execute projects.
- Work with the onsite communications organization on all network interface planning.
- Develop and update all necessary network interface planning documents for program integration efforts.
- Assist with defining the facilities requirements and document all defined requirements.
- Support technical meetings, technical interchanges and enterprise working groups.
- Work closely with a collaborative team at the Factory and customer location comprised of systems engineers and I&T team members.
- Work with the onsite logistics, security and systems integration team on hardware and software entering and leaving the customer facility.
- Track status of all submitted work orders to completion; working collaboratively with all stakeholders to meet the established need dates relating to program needs and milestones.
- Prepare and brief maintenance activities affecting the program, interfacing systems and the customer location.
- Support and witness ground compatibility tests, dry-run tests and formal testing.
- Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of CDRLs.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION/CLEARANCE
- BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 5 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- TS/SCI security clearance required with active CI poly.
SKILLS
- Demonstrated knowledge of ground systems for spacecraft operations.
- Strong System engineering / SEIT skills.
- Experience supporting system engineering of ground systems integration development efforts.
- Knowledge of systems engineering roles and functions, including operations concept development, requirements management, functional analysis, interface definition and control, synthesis, and/or verification and validation.
- Knowledge of related disciplines in software engineering, hardware engineering, integration, test engineering, quality engineering, configuration/data management.
- Experience in developing specifications, documentation, and presentations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written communication skills, oral presentation skills, and an ability to lead group discussions.
- Effectiveness in working with people at all levels and with outside customers, able and willing to contribute wherever and however needed.
