What are the responsibilities and job description for the Signal Processing Engineer position at MKS2 Technologies?
Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years experience
Work Locations: Preferable Waterton Canyon, Littleton, CO. Other Lockheed Martin Campuses for an exceptional candidate.
Clearance: Preferred Active DoD TS with SCI. Will start DoD Secret or Secret
Degree: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
Period of Performance: 1 year with extension options based upon performance
Job Description:
Seeking a signal processing engineer to join a team pathfinding next generation radio remote sensing payloads. You will be part of a small multi-disciplinary team developing adaptive beamforming sensors. Applications include main beam jamming resistance, remote sensing in the presence of terrestrial interference, bistatic radar systems, radiometric imaging, and multi-platform sensor fusion. You will help identify candidate algorithms, prototype hardware, and design tests to validate the remote sensing algorithms. You will guide FPGA/ASIC engineers to translate your algorithm design into a real-time radio remote sensing payload. You will develop and execute sensor array over-the-air testing.
Seeking a high performer, out of the box thinker, multi-disciplinary engineer to move from different areas, work small contracts, working on along customers and transition products to make larger captures. You may act as Business Development representative at times to bring tech ideas to a TRL 6 level. A Self-starting engineer, able to learn quickly, pick up tools and concepts quickly, R&D background a plus, familiar with program startups and captures desired. An engineer familiar with program inceptions to product deployment -the total product life cycle. Prefer heavy experience taking a concept from start to Critical Design Review milestones.
You may do mission analysis work, derive requirements and write digital signal processing requirements to perform the mission, perform mission analysis in MATLAB, implement the product on a target devise Focusing heavily on digital beam forming and adaptive algorithms.
Basic Qualifications - Working knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
• Need at least an active DoD SECRET clearance prior to start, with ability to obtain a TS/SCI with correct access
• MATLAB, object oriented programming
• Understand RF technology
• Able to put systems together to do payload CONOPS, requirement definition, requirement decomposition
One or more of the following:
• Radio sensor array test experience, indoor anechoic and outdoor
• Network and spectrum analyzer experience
• Statistical signal processing methods based on spatial covariance
• Super resolution radio navigation angle of arrival methods
• Antenna array pattern synthesis optimization techniques, including optimizer development
• Understanding of sensor array calibration and degradation of radio navigation
• Python object orientated programming and version control
• Technical writing and presentation skills
Desired Skills:
• FPGA programming experience (VHDL, Verilog)
• C programming experience
• Active TS/SCI
