As a Principal Software Test Engineer at Power Solutions, you will partner with engineering, IT, and operations to develop highly-automated test systems for PCB assemblies. In this role, you will report to the Operations Software Team Lead.
You Will Make an Impact By:
Salary Pay Range: $100,414.00 - $186,482.00 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].

You Will Make an Impact By:
- Leading software development for new/existing applications, utilities, and backend systems
- Taking a systems-based approach to designing new test systems
- Coordinating with test and design engineers on the requirements for test systems
- Analyzing schematics to ensure test systems appropriately stress important parts of each PCB assembly’s circuits
- Training test engineers, operations personnel, and outside suppliers in the proper use of the test system
- Travel Requirements: At most, up to 5% of travel is required. Average amount of travel time has been less than one week per year.
- BS in Engineering field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering)
- 8 years of job-related work experience
- Ability to program clean object-oriented code in either LabView or .NET-based language
- Ability to analyze an electrical schematic and understand the nature of designed circuits
- Ability to work with an international team – both inside and outside of the company
- MS or PhD in Engineering
- Extensive LabView experience
- Experience working with AC, high-voltage, and RF circuitry
- Experience designing high-level automation including robotics and machine vision systems
- Time is equally split working in an office- and lab-based environment
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds on a daily basis
