Ambulatory Operations Leader / Surgery Center Administrator

Location: Flagstaff, Arizona 

Salary: $140K - $170K // Relocation Assistance Provided    


Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on healthcare operations leader to oversee the day-to-day management of a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring high-quality patient care, and fostering strong partnerships with physicians and clinical teams.

The organization operates within a national ambulatory surgery network, partnering with physicians and health systems to deliver high-quality, cost-effective outpatient surgical care across a wide range of specialties.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership
  • Direct and oversee all facility operations, including clinical support services and administrative functions
  • Ensure efficient delivery of surgical services with a focus on quality, safety, and patient experience
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across workflows, staffing, and resource utilization
Clinical & Quality Oversight
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards
  • Partner with clinical leadership to support quality improvement, infection control, and patient satisfaction initiatives
  • Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed
Financial & Business Management
  • Develop and manage operating, staffing, and capital budgets
  • Monitor financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and cost controls
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and financial outcomes
Physician & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with physicians, governing boards, and clinical teams
  • Serve as a liaison between leadership, medical staff, and external partners
  • Support physician recruitment, credentialing, and engagement initiatives


People Leadership
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, and performance management of staff
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous development
  • Ensure appropriate staffing models aligned with patient volume and service needs


Program Development
  • Support growth of surgical service lines and expansion initiatives
  • Participate in strategic planning, including facility development and service optimization
  • Identify opportunities for new programs aligned with community needs
QualificationsExperience
  • Minimum 3 years of healthcare leadership experience (ambulatory surgery center or hospital setting preferred)
  • Experience managing operations, budgets, and clinical programs
  • Demonstrated experience working closely with physicians and clinical teams
