We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support our accounting team in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role will focus on inventory-related accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close support, and assisting with internal audit activities. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and eager to develop within a fast-paced operational setting.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Manufacturing Accounting
- Perform inventory reconciliations and investigate variances
- Reconcile prepaid inventory and accrued receipts accounts
- Support cost-related analysis and ensure proper inventory valuation
- Collaborate with operations and plant personnel to resolve discrepancies
Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Prepare and maintain monthly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts
- Research and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner
- Maintain clear documentation supporting account balances
Month-End Close
- Assist with month-end close procedures, including journal entries
- Prepare supporting schedules and analyses
- Ensure deadlines are met in accordance with the close calendar
Internal Audit Support
- Participate in internal audit activities for manufacturing facilities
- Assist with walkthroughs, documentation, and control testing
- Identify process improvement opportunities
General Accounting Duties
- Support accounts payable and receivable as needed
- Assist with fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and special projects
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 2–4 years of accounting experience (multi-site or manufacturing environment preferred).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas)
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
- Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills.
