Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles to transport freight across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks, on designated routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and ensure efficient transportation
- Load, secure, and unload freight using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Transport hazardous materials and dangerous goods in accordance with hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols
- Deliver freight accurately to various destinations, including automobile transportation and logistics cargo handling sites
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with safety standards
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle maintenance reports in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route changes, or safety concerns
Experience
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and proven experience in commercial truck driving
- Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks is preferred
- Prior delivery driving experience with route driving responsibilities across long distances or OTR routes
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck driving
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and logistics cargo handling procedures
- Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles confidently and perform truck loading/unloading tasks efficiently
- Experience working with various types of trucks such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tanker trucks, or roll-off trucks is advantageous
